*Call for more support

ASABA—A cross section of Deltans, including members of the Delta State House of Assembly, has scored Senator Ifeanyi Okowa high, saying the Governor in the last one year, has brought renewed hope to the people of the state.
Calling on Deltans to be patient with the administration in its efforts to develop the state, those spoken to, expressed hope that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa would deliver on his mandate.
Those were spoke to the Vanguard included Hon. Denis Omovie, Warri South II, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Okpe, Hon. Alphonsus Ojo, Ukwani and Hon. Johnson Erijo, Isoko South II.
Others are HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom, Olorogun John Oguma, Chief Efe Uko and Mr Basil Ishiekwene.
They spoke separately at the Event Centre, Asaba, venue of the inter-denominational thanksgiving service/praise worship put together by the state government to celebrate the one year anniversary of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in office.
Denis Omovie , Chairman House Committee on DESOPADEC and Alphonsus Ojo, Chairman, House Committee on Transport paid glowing tributes to Governor Okowa for his doggedness to lift standards in the state.
Omovie and Ojo emphasized that for the Governor to be up to date with payments of salaries and executing projects with the lean resources was commendable.
On their parts, Oborevwori, Chairman House Committee on Capital City Development and Erijo, Chairman House Committee on Establishment, said Dr Okowa as governor of the state guaranteed hope and better future for the state, maintaining that what was needed was the support of the people.
Oboriowori and Erijo commended the quality of projects and programmes inaugurated by the governor in just one year in office, saying by the time he would be two years in office, much solid progress would have been made in the state.
The Ovie of Uvwie kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, Olorogun John Oguma, Mr Basil Ishiekwene and Chief Efe Uko, congratulated Okowa on his one year anniversary as governor of the state.
They acknowledged the enormous challenges in the governance of a multi-ethnic state like Delta and commended the governor for his detribalized nature and steps taken so far to guarantee development, peace and stability in the state.
They appealed to Deltans to sustain their support for the state government.
