YENAGOA—The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, worldwide has hailed the take off of the implementation of the United Nations Environmental, UNEP, report on the clean up of Ogoni land and urged Federal Government to extend the gesture to the entire Niger Delta region.

Spokesman of IYC, Eric Omare in a statement in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, described the formal flag-off as a practical demonstration of political will to implement the UNEP report on Ogoni by the highest political authority.

According to IYC, “The entire Niger Delta environment is polluted and in need of urgent clean-up for it to serve its purpose of sustaining the Niger Delta people.”
