ABUJA- A group of Information Communication Technology, ICT, experts are to train 1, 500 youth on internet entrepreneurship skill as part of creating employment.
This was disclosed at a press briefing by the Coordinator of the group (I am Nigeria Initiative), Victor Giwa, who said the 2-day training programme christened, ‘Abuja E-ternet Job Expo 2016’ with theme, ‘Exploring Opportunities in Internet & Online Business’ will hold from July 1 and 2, 2016, at Christ Chapel International Church, Katampe Abuja.
According to Giwa the Ministry of Labour and Employment, is also supporting the programme, which he said the Minister, Sen. Chris Ngige, will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the training.
Giwa said: “This is the maiden edition of a youth empowerment info-knowledge initiative targeted at young people of our great country.
“The 2-day capacity building and empowerment exercise is designed to bring together over 1, 500 young people for an effective and functional info-knowledge empowerment and training sessions.
“The programme is part of our effort to add value to the life of unemployed youth who are ignorant of the abundant internet entrepreneurship skills that would help them to be self reliant and also empower other young people.
He also explained that the training will encourage internet entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and team work among young people in the country, therefore reduce the burden of job creation by the government.
