THE Agbon PDP Stakeholders,Orhoakpo, Ethiope East local government area of Delta State has called for transparency and internal democracy for the party to win all its subsequent elections in the council.
The PDP stakeholders meeting which was convened at the instance of the Delta State Commissioner for Commerce and industry, Barr May Iyasere, to foster unity among the PDP family, discard pull-him-down syndrome and strategise on how to win coming elections.
But the meeting took another dimension when leaders from Agbon 8 wards, Chief Young Esiekpe, Chief Michael Adiotomre, Hon Tony Oboroh, Hon. Steve Eruotor, Barr Arthur Akpowowo, and others started protesting, appealing to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa to direct the state party chairman to return the local government party chairman to Agbon.
The PDP leaders had earlier pointed out that in Ethiope East that there are three zones; Agbon 1, Agbon 2 and Abraka clan which make up Ethiope East, adding that it is unfair for some persons from Agbon clan to connive with Abraka to give what belongs to them to Abraka.
They said until such injustice is corrected winning elections in the area will be difficult, adding that there is no way Abraka with 3 wards should be having two party positions while Agbon 1 & 2 with 8 wards is not having any, describing the sharing as one lacking internal democracy.
Speaking further, they maintained that democracy is all about equity, and that elections are won by numbers, and that sharing also are by wards or constituencies, saying it is a clear aberration on the part of Agbon clan with eight wards to accept such transparent injustices.
