BENIN CITY—THE management of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State has set up an eight-man committee to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the mayhem in the polytechnic perpetrated last week during the students protest.
It will be recalled that the institution was shut down last week after the students protested the alleged decision by the management of the institution to collect school fees from students before they enter for their examinations.
Property including vehicles estimated at over N15 million were destroyed in the protest.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the school, Mustapha Oshiobugie, said that the panel has two weeks to submit its report, adding that the school remains closed for both part time and full time students of the polytechnic.
