By Elizabeth Uwandu

Blessed Fruit Foundation, BFF, has put smiles on the faces of orphans and widows, as it awarded scholarships to two orphans and gave interest-free loans to 18 widows.  Chairman of the foundation, Mr Patrick Akpala, who made this known in Lagos during an annual general meeting said: “The foundation will continue to cater for the tuition and books of BFF scholarship awardees.”

According to him, Victor Chinaka who was adopted from primary school by the Foundation is now in JSS2. Just as Dimeji Ajayi who was also adopted from JSS3 is now in 300 level, at the Nursing Department, University of Lagos.

He explained that in addition to the above awardees, BFF management has approved N30,000 for Mrs Oyewole, a widow, to offset her daughter’s school fees at Lagos State University. As well as N12,000 for Mrs Azubuike’s daughter to purchase WAEC form.

He noted that in continuation of providing school items for widows, children and orphans, in 2015, school items and writing materials were distributed to about 50 children in primary and secondary schools.  Meanwhile, Akpala said that the foundation and its partners have made provision of business interest-free loans to beneficiaries of BFF.
