OGONI—Senator Magnus Abe, All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Rivers South East senatorial district, Rivers State in the yet to be concluded legislative re-run election, has commended the Ogoni people for the rousing  reception given to President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and other members of the presidential delegation that came for the launch of the cleanup of Ogoni land and other oil impacted communities in the Niger Delta at Bodo town in Gokana Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement  in Port Harcourt by Mr. Parry Benson, his spokesperson, Abe said that the turnout of Ogoni people for the event was high and resounding.

He said, this has gone a long way to show  the appreciation of the Ogoni to President Buhari for the laudable project.

He assured the Ogoni that the project would be realised as the Federal Government and other stakeholders were sincere in implementing it.

He enjoined the people to discountenance rumours being peddled by their detractors that the project was not realizable.
