MEMBERS of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under the auspices of Agbon PDP Stakeholders Forum, yesterday, chided former Ethiope East Local Government party chairman, Chief Bernard Edewor, for flouting Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s directive to zone the local government party chairman to Agbon clan of Ethiope East.

The forum, which petitioned Governor Okowa and others, said the directive of the governor to bring the local government party chairman to Agbon clan and the state Organising Secretary of the party to Abraka clan was well accepted by the forum.

The forum in a statement by its leaders, Dr. Lucky Otegheri, Sunny Emeyese, Arthur Akpowowo, Tony Oboroh, Chief Patrick Idama and Chief Michael Adiotomre expressed dismay and shock, that Edewor who briefed them of the governor’s directive on zoning of the party chairman to Agbon clan, turned around to disagree with the governor.

The forum said the votes produced by Agbon 8 wards in favour of the governor made it possible for the Constitutional requirement of 25 percent votes of 2/3 local government in the state.

It said traditionally, the state executive position usually zoned to Ethiope East, was held by Agbon clan, adding that when state Organising Secretary was zoned to Abraka clan with three wards as against the eight wards of Agbon clan, as directed by the state chairman and the governor, it was respected and accepted by the Agbon clan as party was supreme.
