By Daud Olatunji

ABEOKUTA—THE leadership of Ogun state chapter of Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, yesterday, kicked over the invitation extended to its leadership by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase following a petition allegedly written by some members of Ogun State House of Assembly.

The Union, which addressed newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital, alleged that no fewer than 20 members of the state Assembly accused the leadership of the state House of Assembly of scheming to destabilise the peace in the state.

The State vice Chairman of the Union, Yusuf Bamgbola told newsmen that the IGP has summoned the State Chairman,  Akeem Adeosun for allegedly threatening the lives of some lawmakers in the state.

Bamgbola, who was flanked by other members of the state executive of the union who included the State Chairman, however, accused the leadership of the house of undue interference in the affairs of the union.

He said, the lawmakers through the house committee chairman on transportation Dare Kadri had made unsuccessful attempt to impose a non-member of the union in Ago-Iwoye motor branch of the union.
