ABEOKUTA—The Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Dr. Adedapo Tejuoso has warned Governor Ibikunle Amosun against signing the creation of additional 37 Local Council Development Areas bill without including Orike-Oko as part of Obafemi-Owode and not Remo-North Local Government.
The monarch, who said signing of the amended bill, which had been passed into law by the state Assembly could lead to inter-communal clashes between the people of Orile-Oko and Remo North, adding that the people in Orike-Oko reject to be put under Remo local government but, prefer to be with their kins in Egbaland.
Addressing newsmen at his palace in Abeokuta, the Oluwo of Oke-Ona , High Chief Abayomi Jiboku, said the issue of Orile-Oko merging Obafemi-Owode had been settled in 2002 during the administration of former governor of the state, Chief Segun Osoba.
