OWERRI—The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Acho Ihim, has charged his colleagues to constantly inspect all projects being executed in their constituencies.

Similarly, the Assembly ordered authorities charged with the responsibility of paying workers’ salaries in the state to equally capture the pensioners.

Ihim, who gave the charge yesterday during plenary, said: “The idea behind the oversight function is to ascertain the level of job done and ensure contractors adhere to specifications and contractual obligations.”

The Speaker reminded his colleagues that a lot of projects are ongoing, stressing that there was need for the lawmakers to compel the contracting firms to deliver and handover the projects within agreed time frame.
