BENIN CITY— Edo State House of Assembly has amended the bill for a law to establish the Edo State University, Iyamoh. With the amendment, the university is now known as Edo University of Iyamoh.

The amendment was effected by the House through the Majority Leader’s motion suspending its relevant rules to facilitate the amendment.

The amendment was unanimously approved by the lawmakers.

The Speaker, Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie, directed that a clean copy of the bill be sent to the governor for his assent.

Meanwhile, Speaker Ativie led other principal officers of the House on a condolence visit to the Edaiken N’ Uselu, Crown Prince Ehenede Erediauwa on the passing away of the Oba recently.
