PORT HARCOURT— Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, yesterday, called for collaboration between President of the Customary Court of Appeal and the Chief Judge of the state to strengthen the judiciary.

The governor made the appeal at Government House, Port Harcourt, when he swore in Justice Christy Gabriel-Nwankwo as substantive President, Rivers State  Customary Court of Appeal.

He urged members of the Bench at the state High Court and Customary Court to work in harmony to consolidate the judiciary as an arm of government in the state, stressing that judges should be courageous to handle cases for the common good of society.

His words: “Today, we have been able to fulfil our promise  to  the people of  Rivers State as regards  stabilizing the  judiciary.  We have a female as the Chief Judge and another  woman  as the President Customary Court of Appeal.

“I urge you to work together  and improve the stability  we already  have  in the judiciary.”
