WARRI—TWO hoodlums were yesterday  afternoon burnt dead by angry mob in Okumagba Layout, Warri, Delta state.

The two, burnt at different spots, were said to be among a gang of nine armed robbers caught by youths in the area following their failed robbery bid at Okolobe Street, Okumagba Layout.

An eye witness told Vanguard that, “They were about  to raid people holding a party in Okolobe Street with arms, but the crowd reacted swiftly and chased after them.

“They ran in different directions, but in the end, one was caught at Emebiren Junction where he was beaten to coma before being set ablaze with a tyre round his neck. The other got same jungle justice at Estate Roundabout.”

It was further gathered that efforts by policemen and vigilante to rescue the victims were thwarted by the mob.

Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Cellestina  Kalu, could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
