PORT HARCOURT—THE Police in Rivers State, yesterday, paraded 72 persons arrested for armed robbery, kidnapping and cult related activities at the  state Police headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

A lady who was among those paraded allegedly organised the  kidnap of her two sons, whose ages were put at seven and five years respectively.

The driver, who allegedly drove the children away from the house she lived in with her husband in Eleme, Eleme Local Government Area of the state was among those also paraded.

When interviewed, the lady who gave her name as Abigail said, she was roped into what she knew nothing about.

According to her, the husband, Mr Brown allegedly abandoned her to live in an apartment he rented for his girl friend from Ghana in the same Eleme.

“This lady, my husband’s girl friend threatened to deal with me for demanding that my husband should come back home. The next thing I found myself here over allegation of kidnap of my children to get at my husband,” she said.

The man who allegedly drove the children said, he was only asked by the lady to take the children to her elder sister’s house.

“I was arrested for driving the children to the house of the  sister to their mother. I don’t know how I came to be labelled a kidnapper,” he said.
