Omo-Agege, when he visited the proposed site for Okwagbe Seaport, noted that the process for the commencement of work on the project site had been on for years without any appreciable progress.

He expressed hope that the port project will become a reality soon.

He said: “I have commenced discussion with the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and relevant government agencies to see how the project can take off soon. In order to ensure that the project is not abandoned, the foreign partners will bring foreign investors to finance the project.”

He had promised the people of Okwagbe in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, that if voted as a senator, he would ensure that Okwagbe seaport project takes off, adding that one of his primary objectives was to make the seaport operational, hence his visit to the site to have first-hand information before coming with the team of investors.

“My major interest in this project is to attract development and create jobs for our teaming unemployed youths and also generate economic activities that will transform Urhoboland,” Omo-Agege said.
