OREROPKE—THE Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Orhue I, has charged Nigerians within and outside the country to avail themselves of the opportunity offered by the ongoing National Identity Card registration by the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC.

Giving the charge at his palace during a visit by the Delta State coordinator of NIMC, Henrietta Okolo, the Orodje, in the company of some palace chiefs, applauded the Federal Government for the project, stressing that it would checkmate underdevelopment and electoral irregularities during elections.

Promising to mobilize his subjects, especially farmers, to participate in the National Agricultural Payment Initiative, NAPI, being put in place by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with NIMC, the monarch promised to work with district heads in his kingdom to ensure that farmers register and benefit from the programme.

Earlier, while giving details of the programme, the Delta State NIMC coordinator explained that the Federal Government has made plans to empower a minimum of 300, 000 farmers in Delta State through NAPI.

According to her, Delta State is among 15 states to benefit from the programme which is in its early stage, adding that for farmers to benefit from the programme, they need to get their National Identification Number, NIN.
