FORMER Sports Minister, Bala Ka’Oje has lambasted Chris Giwa group, which parades itself as the duly elected board of the Nigeria Football Federation, saying they are taking Nigeria football backward.
The former minister who expressed pain over the ongoing Chris Giwa-engineered crisis in Nigerian football, said the group was putting spanners in the country’s wheel of progress. The former minister does not foresee the country’s return to her pride of place among the comity of football playing nations soon, if the present crisis was allowed to persist.
Ka’Oje called on the Nigerian football fraternity to isolate the group if they want to continue to drag Nigerian football to the dark ages and bring shame to the country.
“The court case is bad. They should not have gone there in the first place as FIFA frowns at football matters being taken to civil courts.”
He said the consequence of the court action will portend a difficult period for the country’s football which has a rich and robust history.
