Executive Director, Media and Public Affairs, Edo State Governor’s Office, Mr. John Mayaki, has warned of dire consequences, if a wrong person succeeds Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Mayaki, who described Oshiomhole as a governor who upholds the rule of law, increases the freedom of the people, demystifies governance and increases political participation, said, “He has delivered to the letter on the mandate of the people, shunned corruption, promotes efficiency, punishes indolence and inefficiency and stands up against tyranny.

“Politics and governance can be better when you see risk coming. A month after November 13 and after Governor  Oshiomhole’s exit, when the typical civil servant fails to receive alert, what happens?

“Civil servants, in this case, who have their fingers on the pulse of risk, what they see, share and thrive on, can best tell, if not now, after Oshiomhole, how it hurts when there is no alert by month’s end just because a wrong person was elected to run the affairs of governance.

“Change is the only constant, they say, but there is imminent disaster for a bad choice ahead, the brunt of which we will all suffer, the civil service, politician-delegates and the masses. But where Oshiomhole comes in is outside-the –box thinking, to help inside-the –governance driving.”
