Cleric tasks Muslims on patience

The Chief Imam of Area 10, Garki Juma’at Mosque, FCT, Malam Yahya Al-Yolawi, on Friday urged Muslims to exercise patience and restraint in their deeds and expectations from Allah.

Al-Yolawi made the admonition in a sermon at the mosque during the Juma’at service in Abuja.

According to him, Muslims are expected to remain spiritually steadfast when faced with hard times.

The Imam also described patience as one of the noblest qualities of the believer and a weapon which a true believer could use when faced with adversity.

“Patience is required when faced with things that are painful to the heart.

“It teaches Muslims to be spiritually steadfast when faced with calamities, difficulties and hard times.

“Patience is one of the noblest qualities of the believer, and the first weapon for the believer to use when faced with adversity,’’ he said.

Al-Yolawi also said that patience usually resulted to victory, while describing patience as twin brother to victory.

“Allah has made patience like a horse that never gets tired; an army never gets defeated and a strong fortress that can never be breached.

“Patience and victory are twin brothers, for victory comes with patience; relief comes with distress and ease comes with distress,’’ he said.
