LOKOJA—Chief Press Secretary to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Kingsley Fanwo has faulted the ‘vote of no confidence’ passed on the governor by the State Executive Council, SEC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, insisting members erred by their action.
This came as the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, passed a vote of confidence on the governor, saying also that the APC SEC got it wrong by accusing the governor of appointing people from the opposition parties into his cabinet.
According to Fanwo: “The governor’s team is what a 21st century leader needs to excel. It is a chemistry of professionalism, competence, dynamism, maturity and exposure. Many of the appointees were recommended by party chieftains and they are surely not PDP members. Even the state chapter of the PDP has come out to tell the world that their members have not taken appointments from the governor.
“Secondly, the governor shouldn’t have been blamed for working against his party in the National Assembly rerun elections when the Appeal Courts had barred APC candidates from contesting. APC candidates were disqualified because the courts said the party didn’t follow the Electoral Act in nominating it’s candidates.”
