Man to die by hanging for homicide

ILORIN—An Ilorin High Court, yesterday, sentenced one Ahmed Abdullahi to death by hanging after finding him guilty of a charge of culpable homicide.

Delivering his judgment, the state Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Kawu, ordered that Abdullahi be hanged for causing the death of a nine-year-old, Hamidu Sanda, by beheading him in a bush at Amberi Village, Iso Wara, near Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state on April 1, 2009.

The court also sentenced the convict to five year imprisonment for being in possession of a fresh human head.
The court also sentenced Waheed Sanni and Saka Adisa to five years imprisonment each for unlawfully receiving fresh human head.
