Kidnapped Colonel, Inusa, found dead

Colonel Samaila Inusa, who was kidnapped on Sunday in Kaduna, was found dead at 6p.m., yesterday, around Ajyaifa village in Kaduna.
Late Colonel Inusa was kidnapped by his abductors in the presence of his wife and children on their way from an outing. The abductors abandoned his wife and took him away.

Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, who announced the discovery of his body in a statement last night, said the remains were found decomposing, an indication that he was killed the day he was kidnapped.

The statement read: “Nigerian Army wishes to regrettably inform the public that Colonel Samaila Inusa, who was kidnapped on Sunday March 27, was found dead today (yesterday) at about 6p.m.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that most likely the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped.

“This is because the body was found decomposing around Ajyaita village, off Eastern By-Pass, Kaduna, Kaduna State. Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.

“We wish to state in unmistakeable terms that whoever is behind his abduction and murder would be fished out to face the full wrath of the law.”

It will be recalled that the Army had announced N500,000 reward for information that would lead to the discovery of the kidnapped colonel on the day he was kidnapped. This was raised to N1 million on Monday.
