ABUJA— The Federal Government has declared Friday and Monday, March 25 and 28, 2016, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter  respectively.

Making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (retd), enjoined all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to support, co-operate and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in his sustained efforts to build a peaceful, united and virile nation.

In a statement signed by the acting Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Muhammadu Maccido, the minister further urged all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation.
