BENIN—THE national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has intensified efforts to unite aggrieved members of the party, after its just concluded congresses.
The party, led by its South South Vice Chairman, Mr Cairo Ojougboh, who was represented by the Zonal Organizing Secretary of the party, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, stressed the need for the leaders of the party in Edo State to recruit more members from the grassroots with a view to giving every member a sense of belonging.
It warned that unless the party was united, it would be difficult to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress-led government in the forthcoming governorship election.
Vanguard learned that the party through the members who conducted the recent congresses including Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, zonal Auditor of the party, Berry Negerese and others, urged the leaders of the party in the state to think of the interest of the party first before their personal interest so as to stand a chance in winning the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
