Cleric proffers ways to end corruption

By Prisca Sam-Duru

President of Bible Believing Mission, Pastor Kingsley Innocent has tasked the Buhari government on the need to adopt strategies capable of destroying corrupt tendencies in the country.

The pastor noted that corruption has become a social problem involving not only those in government, but people in public and private sectors of the economy, emphasising the need for judicial reforms as key to success.

According to him, corruption in Nigeria is systemic and it requires systemic approach as well, focusing more on the pulse of the nation at this time, stressing that the judicial reform is key to its success.

“Enforcement of all relevant anti-corruption laws must be to the fullest, if the fight must make the needed impact. Recovery of all stolen wealth must be practical,” he maintained.

According to him, Nigeria desperately needs change, which must be more than a mere slogan.

“Nigeria’s economy is in a poor state. We need a system that can match other modern systems in the world. This nation anxiously expects a turn-around in vital areas, for better living standards and economic growth,” he said.

He then called on Nigerians to encourage and support President Buhari administration, emphasis-ing that the best approach to corruption must be based on the fear of God, regardless of ethnic diversities.
