This followed his re-election as member of the state House of Assembly representing Southern Ijaw Constituency IV in the recent re-run poll.

Benson and Michael Ogbere for Ekeremor Constituency III were inaugurated as members, Monday, during the sitting presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Abraham Ingobere.

Benson had vacated his seat and office as the Speaker after the Court of Appeal nullified his election.

The two lawmakers were presented with their certificates of return last Friday by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr. Austin Okojie.

After they were sworn-in, the Deputy Leader of the House, Mr. Tonye Isenah representing Kolokuma-Opokuma constituency I, moved a motion to re-elect Mr. Benson as the Speaker.

The motion was seconded by Mr. Monday Bubou Obolo, Southern Ijaw Constituency II.
