ABA—A suspected fake soldier, who specialised in stealing exotic cars from car stands, has been arrested by the Abia State Police command.

Vanguard gathered that the suspect, Ahanna Ogwezi, aged 24, who dresses in full military uniform with the rank of a lieutenant, also operates with the names L. T. Danjuma Aliyu, when in Abia State and L. T. Thompson Adedeji when he visits Imo State.

A Lincoln Navigator, Toyota Avalon and Toyota Camry were recovered from him.

According to him, he is a graduate of Nigeria Military School and studied Medicine and Surgery at Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State.

Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, told Vanguard that on November 12, 2015, the suspect deceived his victim at Umuahia into believing that he wants to test drive a Toyota Camry 2011 car, which he was interested in, but drove off with the car and never returned.

Luck ran out on him when detectives attached to Abia State Police Command traced the vehicle to a buyer at Onitsha, Anambra State, where the buyer who claimed to be related to the suspect, allegedly bought the car having agreed to pay N2.8 million out of which he paid N700,000.
