PORT HARCOURT— Supporters of an ex-militant leader have allegedly set ablaze the campaign office of Senator Magnus Abe in Bori, Gokhana Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Community sources said this was after soldiers allegedly invaded the Yeghe residence of the ex-militant leader.

Details were hazy at press time. But community sources said that the residence of the ex-militant leader was razed during the military operation.

An sms to the spokesman 2 Brigade, Captain Eli Lazurus, had not been responded to at press time.

But a top security source said that there was a massive troop redeployment to the communities.

Media aide to Senator Magnus Abe,  Mr Parry Benson, also declined comment when contacted, promising to get back to this reporter.

The ex-militant leader had earlier accused Senator Abe of using soldiers to harass him ahead of the rerun election slated for March 19.
