Reps member disburses N65m empowerment packages

ABAKALIKI—MEMBER representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency in Ebonyi State, Linus Okorie, has distributed constituency empowerment packages valued at over N65million to constituents.

The exercise at his country home, in Onicha-Igboeze in Onicha Local Government Area of the state, witnessed the distribution of 245 Motorcycles, 30 Tricycles, 18 cars, 20 grinding machines, 20 Industrial sewing machines, 98 power generating sets, 30 Hair Dressing sets, 10 barbing sets, 10 vulcanizing machines, two Dorman sawing machines and 18 computer sets.

Okorie, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, tagged the scheme, “Hon. Linus Okorie Empowerment Scheme.”

Speaking during the exercise, Okorie who lauded his political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said that there was no amount of items he can provide that will equal the mandate given to him by his constituents.

He pleaded with his people to make good use of items provided to uplift their living conditions, adding that he would tap from his oversight functions to enhance agricultural practice in his constituency and in the entire Ebonyi State.
