Yenagoa—Ahead of Saturday’s supplementary election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, the state police command, yesterday, confirmed the arrest of five suspected political thugs allegedly planning to launch attack on an undisclosed location.
The suspects, according to the Police, were arrested last Saturday at 1500hrs by a team of detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping/ Anti-Vice Unit.
Spokesman of the command, Animin Butswat, who disclosed this in Yenagoa, said the suspects were nabbed in a hotel in the Swali suburb of Yenagoa, after a tip off.
He gave the names of the suspects as: Asupha Emeka ‘m’ 34yrs; Ebipre Ebebi ‘m’ 25yrs, Samuel Joe ‘m’ 27yrs, Okilo Matthew ‘m’ 25yrs, and Timiere Matthew ‘m’ 25yrs.
According to him, the suspects were drawing a plan to launch an attack on a yet to be identified location when police operatives swooped on them.
The spokesman said the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation while investigation is ongoing.
