FOR another four years, the ties between the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and Greensprings School will continue following the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the Olympic Value Education in Nigeria.
In a letter signed by the NOC Secretary General, Tunde Popoola, and addressed to the Director of Greensprings School, the renewal of the MoU became necessary following the giant strides made by the school in the course of the programme.
“Our relationship is an un-ending marriage as Greensprings is a unique school with excellence, your involvement and contributions have exceeded our imagination and we are very proud and honoured to associate with your school.
“The renewal will now enable Greensprings to be the flag-bearer for NOC and International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Nigeria on Olympic Value Education programme till 2019.”
With the new MoU, the NOC scribe believes more grounds would be won by Greensprings in terms of propagating the Olympic Value among its students.
Meanwhile, President, Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Solomon Ogba and the chairman of the technical committee of AFN, Yusuf Alli are hoping to support Greenspirngs as they are expected to visit the school to assess the athletics facilities through the school initiative as well as discuss the possibility of Greensprings having a tartan track through the AFN school initiative.
