PRESEIDENT of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Comrade Udengs Eradiri has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to sustain the legacy of former President Goodluck, who bequeathed a sound electoral process to the nation.
Eradiri who stated this yesterday in Yenagoa during a chat with newsmen, stressed that the least the Muhammadu Buhari led federal government can do is to continue with the legacy of Jonathan, by ensuring that ‘one man one vote’ is sustained, and that the Bayelsa State election results reflect the mandate of the people.
While commending INEC for the release of the outstanding 52,000 Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, the IYC president noted that Ijaw youths will hold INEC responsible for failure.
Eradiri said, “The IYC is a non-partisan organization, we have never taken sides in this election and we will never take side. Young people must realize that politicians will always be what they are; therefore we should be very careful about how we get involved so that we don’t kill ourselves.
“Our position is non-violence and INEC as the umpire must ensure that this election is free and fair. President Jonathan has bequeathed a free and fair electoral process to this country, the least the APC government can do is to ensure that they continue on the legacy of the past Jonathan, one man one vote, let the result be a reflection of the mandate of the people.
