LAGOS— Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos, Rev Ephraim Ademowo, has called on the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and the Chief justice of the state, Hon. Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade, to look into the cases of those awaiting trial.
The cleric made the call during the annual visit of the Anglican Diocese of Lagos to the female prison in Kirikiri, Apapa, Lagos.
Bishop Ademowo prayed that Governor Ambode and Hon. Justice Atilade should look into cases of such inmates and fish out those that needs amnesty or official pardon.
According to him, it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the inmates are properly taken care of to enable them integrate properly into the society when they eventually regain their freedom.
