The White House condemned an attack by suspected Islamist gunmen Friday on a hotel in Mali that killed at least 27 people and vowed to stand by local authorities fighting extremist groups.
“The United States condemns in the strongest terms today’s terrorist attack on the many Malian and international guests and employees of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako,” National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said.
“We can confirm that the attack has ended, and we continue to coordinate with US officials on the ground to verify the location of all American citizens in Mali.”
