Wada promises enabling environmemt for corps members

LOKOJA—Kogi State government has promised to sustain the good working relationship with the management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, scheme in order to create an enabling environment for corps members carrying out their primary assignments.

The governor of the state, Capt. Idris Wada, made the promise during the 2015 Batch B corps members swearing in ceremony at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Asaya Kabba.

Wada, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sule Ikani, advised corps members to learn more about Nigerians from other regions of the country.

He said: “This would enable you shun harboured prejudices about others, eradicate negative ideas that have kept the country apart and foster unity among us all.”

Earlier, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Agatha Olabanji,had said 2014 corps members made up of 1242 males and 862 females were registered for the orientation course.

Olabanji urged corps members to learn a skill at the camp which would focus on the entrepreneurial and self-reliant spirit as well as how to explore income generating opportunities.
