Peter-Ameh
By Chris Ochayi
Ahead of the next week Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi state, the National Chairman of Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA, Chief Peter Ameh, has expressed grave concern that recent activities of miscreants and political thugs might pose a threat to the successful conduct of the poll.
Chief Ameh thus called on the police and security agencies to take pre-emptive steps to nip in bud the activities of the enemies of the state.
Speaking with Vanguard in an exclusive interview in Abuja, Ameh said security agencies must uproot the miscreants and political thugs to clear way for smooth election.
According to him, “there are fears because the preparation for the election is not as stable as it used to be, you know the new National Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and the other six Commissioners just resumed duties. Yes, the government is continuing process as they are going to be duly briefed.
“The fear is that PDP is afraid, thinking things are going to go this way, they are afraid the APC will come with their might and there will be clash of the titans and our able citizens in the state will fall victims as many may lose their lives.
