Youths from Kogi State residence in Jos, the Plateau State capital, under the aegis of Kogi Liberation Group have tasked their State Governor, Idris Wada to find a way of accessing the bail-out funds and settle workers’ salaries instead of blaming his woes on the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu.

The youths urged the governor to search himself and find out why he is unable to access the funds like other states and remedy the situation rather than putting the blame of the delay in release of the fund on Audu.

In a statement issued in Jos yesterday and signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Malami Ibrahim and Press Secretary, Ogu Idegu they said, “Governor Wada should be ashamed for his failure to secure the fund approved for the state just as he has failed in providing dividends of democracy to citizens of the state since assumption of office.

“The bailout fund was approved for all the 36 state governors by the federal government and most of the governors have successfully processed theirs and have already taken care of the welfare of their civil servants.

“From our findings from the CBN headquarters, Gov Wada has not satisfied CBN on why Kogi State deserves the N50.8 billion which is the highest amount requested by any state governor. Meanwhile other governors have been able to justify the release of their funds and they have be given without delay by the same CBN.

“In a manner to prove that Gov Wada has no concern for the welfare of civil servants, the government neglected the process at CBN and chose to concentrate on his campaign for his second term election at the expense of the state’s civil servants.

“Rather than Gov Wada accepting the delay as his own failure just as he has failed in governing the state, he decided to politicize his own incapability as governor by putting the blame on Audu and the CBN governor.”
