Some notable PDP chieftains from Ijumu and Kabba-Bunu Local government areas at the weekend defected to the APC along with thousands of their supporters.
Amongst them were the Director General of Senator Adeyemi’s Campaign Organisation, Hon. Fehinti Dada, and former House of Representatives member, Duro Meseko who led the defectors during the elaborate reception ceremony at Iyara, the headquarters of Ijumu local government.
Receiving the defectors, the flag bearer of the APC, Prince Abubakar Audu praised their courage, saying that the wind of change that was blowing round many states in the country has finally come to Kogi State.
He charged the defectors to bring their experience to bear for the party to win the election this Saturday. Dada, a former council chairman said they left the PDP because the party has failed the people, adding that survey has shown that PDP led administration has collapsed activities at the third tier of government in the state, as he claimed that no achievement was recorded and workers put on percentage pay.
In the same vein, former House of Representative members, Duro said they left the PDP because they can not afford to be left out in the wind of change blowing across the country.
