Man, 54, in Police net over alleged fraud
LAGOS—POLICE in Lagos State have arrested a 54-year-old man alleged to be an expert in swindling unsuspecting members of the public by selling fake mobile phones as genuine ones to them.
Rise in tax revenue miss-matches expenditure growth
There is indication that tax revenue may not significantly cushion Federal Government’s impending huge deficit projected for 2016 budget as expected tax revenue in 2016 fiscal year is about N4.5 trillion. According to the projections of the Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS, tax revenue growth is around 10 per cent as against expected expenditure growth of over 100 per cent in 2016 fiscal year.

ECOWAS businessmen seek court on trade disputes
Businessmen and traders of member states of the Economic Community of West Africa States worried by lack of sanctity of contract and respect for the protocol of the community are seeking legal option to settle trade and related dispute among members. They are in agreement that an ECOWAS Court of Justice is a potential forum for the adjudication of trade related regional instruments and are of the view that there is need for advocacy towards the expansion of the jurisdiction of the ECOWAS Court of Justice hitherto limited to human rights to cover trade related issues as part of economic rights.
