Ibadan—PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has said that with the policies put in place by his administration, the future of the country is bright adding that all the challenges being experienced currently would be controlled.

According to him, challenges like infant mortality, extreme poverty, insecurity, climate change and the rabid activities of terrorists which militate against the progress of the country, would be controlled.

This came just as the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, gave suggestions that could nip the excesses of Boko Haram in the bud.

Buhari spoke through the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, during the the Foundation Day ceremony and 67th convocation of the University of Ibadan yesterday.

The president also hinted that  the budget would focus on technology, power, transportation, access to solar power and promotion of entrepreneuship small scale businesses.

“The future of Nigeria is bright. Our nation will yield its fruits for her people and make the citizens to live decent lives. By the grace of God, we will succeed,” the Vice President said on behalf of his boss.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, who is now the Chancellor of the university, was conferred with the Doctor of Law at the ceremony.

Alhaji Abubakar noted that the activities of Boko Haram  insurgents in the North East could partly be blamed on the socio-economic factor of Almajiri, urging the government to give urgent attention to it.
