YENAGOA—A suspected car snatcher was, yesterday, nabbed by a mob along Imgbi Road, Amarata, a suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, had attempted to use a master key to start the car, a white Toyota Camry, with Rivers number plates 706 AA, when the owner, who was eating at a buka, sighted him and raised alarm.
An eyewitness, Mr. Sylvester Dogo, told Vanguard that he was with his friends when he heard shouts of ‘thief,’ which prompted them to give the suspect a chase.
According to him, the suspect, who was beaten black and blue, confessed that he was a member of a gang. He said the suspect confessed to have been in the act for a long time.
He was later handed over to the police.
