The 2015 Quadrangular Games have been slated to hold between November 15 and 21 at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.
The games which is open only to the four premier social clubs in Lagos involves the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos Country Club and the Apapa Club. Ikoyi Club are the defending champions.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Prince Bowo Olateru Olagbegi said in Lagos Tuesday that this year’s games would introduce a number of innovations that would make a lot of difference from previous editions.
“The games will, for the first time, witness cultural nights which will showcase our rich cultural heritage,” he said, adding that children from the four clubs will compete among themselves thereby making them part of the fun which the week-long event represents.
Sports to feature include Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash Racquet, billiards and snooker, Chess, Tug of War, among others.
Representative of Sterling Bank, sponsors of the event, Lateef Aliu who is Deputy Head, Channels Operations said the bank identified with the Quadrangular Games in order to facilitate friendship, networking and enrich the lives of their clients. “Our slogan is to enrich the lives of the people and sports is one of the ways to enrich peoples lives,” Aliu said.
