Estate agent arraigned for defrauding 3 sisters

LAGOS—Policemen attached to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Panti Yaba have arrested  one Lekan Oyewole, 47 for defrauding three sisters of over N3 million .

It was gathered that the three sisters (name withheld) paid the said money to the suspect to help them secure documents for parcels of land they purchased but he fled Lagos for three months and was in hiding but the long arm of the law caught up with the suspect following a report to the police.

It was learned that the suspect was introduced to one of the sisters as a property consultant sometime in March this year. One of the sisters gave him two million, thirty thousand naira to help prepare survey plan and carry out construction on her site. He pretended to be working to get the job done and he kept assuring her documents will soon be ready.

The other sisters felt he was an honest man and they paid him seven hundred and forty thousand naira and seven hundred and ninety thousand naira respectively to help them also prepare their survey plans and documents for land approval from the Lagos State government, but he made away with their money and went into hiding. He abandoned his family and switched off his phones for three months.

However, he came out of his hiding place after he ran out of money and unknown to him that the police were on his trail. Eventually, he was arrested.
