Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will face the Young Joeys of Australia in the round of 16 at the 2015 Fifa Under-17 World Cup taking place in Chile.
After the group stage was completed on Sunday, Australia qualified from Group C as one of the best third-placed teams with four points.
The Golden Eaglets topped Group A with six points from three matches to reach the round of 16 at Chile 2015 but had to wait until Monday to know whom they will face after the group stages were concluded.
Nigeria beat the United States 2-0 in their first group game before smashing hosts Chile 5-1 but were brought down to earth by Croatia who came from a goal down to defeat the Eaglets 2-1.
The game between Nigeria and Australia in the knock out stage will be played on Thursday at the Estadio Sausalito in Vina del Mar, Chile.
If the Golden Eaglets can scale the Australian hurdle, then they might book a date with the winner of the Brazil/New Zealand round of 16 game in the quarter finals.
