Jos—Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has commended the 1,700 Batch ‘C’ National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members, who completed their service year yesterday, for the positive impacts they made in their host communities.
The governor, represented by his Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyoden, who addressed the corps members during their passing out parade at Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos, noted that they recorded achievements in education, health care delivery, rural transformation, social services and agriculture in various parts of the state.
He said: “We will not forget in a hurry the noble role played by the outgoing NYSC members in ensuring that the 2015 general elec-tions were free and credibly.”
Earlier, State Coordinator, Mr. Abdulrazak Salawu, said NYSC had kept alive the dreams of its founding fathers and would do more, if given necessary support.
He said the scheme would continue to impact positively in the communities and sensitize youths on the dangers of idleness, drug and alcoholic abuse among other vices.
