UMUAHIA—Former assistant to Dr. Alex Ekwueme and Peoples Democratic Party chieftan, Mr. Ben Onyechere has said that the assertion by the opposition in Abia State  that the incumbent governor of Abia as an off-shoot of Orji’s administration is a familiar paranoia of an attention seeking palace jesters, who have continued to mislead their candidate with the singular aim of extortion.

According to him, the expression is a further demonstration that  they lack the rudimentary knowledge of party administration, part of which is that the party is supreme to any individual interest, in addition to the fact that loyalty must be rewarded in considering candidacy.

He said: “It is the recognition of loyalty that is misconstrued. The decision to elect a true son of Ngwa was not made by the former governor alone and in towing that line, many variables were brought into play. ”

The emergence of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as PDP candidate is a decision that took cognizance of a digital and enterprising generation which is the vogue in contemporary politics.
