A group, Selected Media Practitioners and Comm- unity Newspaper Publishers Association, has implored President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Chief Oghenove Omene as Minister of Petroleum.
In a statement signed by the group’s National President, Alhaji Ismaila Sambo and Secretary, Comrade Akinwunmi Oyebola, stated that the appointment be made based on Omene’s anti-corruption disposition and international connections that could be useful to the administration.
“With the calibre of Chief Oghenovo Imoyi Omene as your Minister of Petroleum, you can be rest assured that the problem of corruption in that sector will be nicked in the bud and the perennial problem of fuel scarcity will be settled.
“Our investigation reveals that Chief Omene is a detribalized and incorruptible Nigerian who led Urhobo National Association of North America and helped make it relevant in America’s politics.”
