Comrade Akwu Goodman, on Saturday, emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the November 21, 2015 governorship election.
His candidature was ratified at the NUJ Centre by party delegates after emerging as the sole aspirant at the primary. Goodman immediately promised that the party would spring a surprise against the permutation of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the governorship polls.
“My party, APGA, will upstage them (APC and PDP) to form government in the next dispensation, ” Goodman said adding that his chances in the election remains very bright, because he represents a paradigm shift from the old order and charged it is high time the elderly politicians quit the stage for the younger ones.
He pointed out that the focus of his administration if given the mandate, will be youth empowerment, and education, “I enjoin the electorate not to toy with their future. They should vote for APGA in the November 21 governorship polls. My party has a well articulated programme that will put the state on sound economic pedestal.
“A vote for APGA is a vote for liberation. The down trodden who form the larger percentage of the people of the state cannot continue to wallow in abject poverty in the midst of plenty”.
He assured that his administration would carry all segments of the state along in the scheme of things, stressing that minority ethnic groups are agitating for power shift due to bad governance and injustice.
“Although the responsibility of flying my party’s flag in the coming governorship election is a big task, I will not betray the confidence reposed in me. I promise to be a good ambassador of my party by running a purposeful and transparent leadership if elected.”
