Ado-Ekiti—The Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission, EKSIEC, yesterday announced that council elections will hold in the state on December 19, with a promise to create a level playing ground for all participants.
At a parley with representatives of various political parties at the commission’s office in Ado Ekiti, the Chairman, Justice Kayode Bamisile (retd), assured that the Commission would give all the political parties a level-playing field to participate in the election.
The last election was held under the administration of Engr Segiun Oni in 2008, while efforts made by his predecessor, Dr Kayode Fayemi to conduct same on February 4, 2011 was aborted due to the Ado Ekiti High Court judgement, which voided the composition of the then SIEC.
